چکیده
In the present study, microstructure and mechanical properties of a new Mg-4Al-3.5Ca-2Gd (AXE432) alloy are investigated. The as-cast AXE432 consists α-Mg, C14 (Mg2Ca), C36((Mg, Al)2Ca) phases. After heat treatment at 480 °C for 8 h, with fine lamellar structure changes from narrow stripes to micro-scale particles, part C36 dissolve into α-Mg matrix, many short needle-shaped C15 (Al2Ca) phase precipitating in primary a-Mg grains. extruded temperature as high 420 exhibits refined dynamically recrystallized (DRXed) grain sizes less than 1.5 ± 0.5 μm strong {0001}<101¯0> basal texture maximum intensity 5.62. A complex combination effects size, texture, second-phase strain hardening results balanced properties, tensile yield strength (TYS), ultimate (UTS), elongation (El), compressive (CYS), (UCS) 331.4 2.1 MPa, 336.9 3.8 16.1 2.3%, 270.4 1.6 MPa 574.5 12.4 respectively.

Effect of LPSO and SFs on microstructure evolution and mechanical properties of Mg-Gd-Y-Zn-Zr alloy
High performance Mg-8.2Gd-3.8Y-1.0Zn-0.4Zr alloy with high strength and excellent ductility has been successfully developed by hot extrusion. The effect of plate-shaped long period stacking ordered (LPSO) phases and solute-segregated stacking faults (SFs) on the dynamically recrystallization (DRX) behavior was analyzed. The plate-shaped LPSO phases stimulate the DRX by particle stimulated nucle...

An effect of rolling temperature on the mechanical properties and microstructural evolution of an Al-Mg-Si alloy was studied. The material was rolled up to a true strain of ∼0.7 at three different temperatures viz; room temperature, liquid propanol and liquid nitrogen. The liquid nitrogen rolled sample exhibited superior properties with a yield and tensile strength of 332 MPa and 364 MPa, respe...
متن کاملRare Earth Element Yttrium Modified Mg-Al-Zn Alloy: Microstructure, Degradation Properties and Hardness
The overly-fast degradation rates of magnesium-based alloys in the biological environment have limited their applications as biodegradable bone implants. In this study, rare earth element yttrium (Y) was introduced into AZ61 magnesium alloy (Mg-6Al-1Zn wt %) to control the degradation rate by laser rapid melting. The results showed that the degradation rate of AZ61 magnesium alloy was slowed do...
