Materials can be subjected to severe wear and corrosion due high temperature, pressure mechanical loads when used in components for the production of geothermal power. In an effort increase lifetime these thus decrease cost maintenance High-Entropy Alloy Coatings (HEACs) were developed with different coating techniques anti-wear properties. The microstructure, tribological properties CoCrFeNiMox (at% x = 20, 27) HEACs deposited by three technologies—high-velocity oxygen fuel (HVOF), laser cladding (LC) electro-spark deposition (ESD)—are presented this study. relationship between surface morphology microstructural as-deposited coatings their friction behavior is assessed evaluate candidacy as environment. rates lower HVOF compared LC ESD-produced coatings. Similarly, a higher hardness (445 ± 51 HV) was observed HEACs. mixed FCC, BCC structure extent σ + µ nano precipitates are considered responsible increased improved performance findings from study valuable development wear-resistant HEAC energy industry applications where encountered.
