چکیده
Dissimilar friction stir spot welds (FSSW) between the magnesium and aluminum alloys are joined, using a novel approach called refill welding. The present work aims to evaluate macrostructural mechanical properties of welded AZ31B AA 6061-T6 in two combinations, i.e., identical Mg-to-Mg dissimilar Mg-to-Al joints, results compared with obtained conventional hardness profiles similar had appearance W-shape, Thermo mechanically affected zone heat-affected both methods lower values than rest weld. Along interface sheets, thin intermetallic compound layer Al12Mg17 has been identified, which led an increase hardness. static shear strength was much greater that traditional welds. In welds, distinct failure scenarios discovered.

Effect of friction stir welding parameters on the microstructure and mechanical properties of dissimilar AA2024-AA6061 joints
In the present study, to resolve the problems in fusion welding methods as well as to increase the strength, FSW method was used to join aluminum alloy sheets 6061 and 2024. Moreover, optimal parameters for joining of these two alloys were also taken into consideration. Various tool rotation speeds of 565, 950 and 1500 rpm were selected. For each tool rotation speed, two traverse speed variable...

AA 6061 has gathered wide acceptance in the fabrication of the light structures required to high strength. Compared to the fusion welding processes that are used for joining structural aluminium alloys, friction stir welding (FSW) process is an emerging solid state joining process in which the material that is being welded does not melt and recast. In this experimental work, an extensive invest...
