Microstructural analysis of siderurgical aggregate concrete reinforced with fibers

The development of cracks in concrete structures is one the significant issues with maintaining high strength after hardening. One way to prevent and control this problem use fibers. This paper investigates containing electric arc furnace slag aggregates reinforced fibers used study are steel three kinds polypropylene fibers; polyolefin (modified polypropylene), homopolymer, high-toughness polypropylene. By checking compressive flexural concretes made fibers, it can be seen that best results at 28 days found for namely 62 MPa 0.9% On contrary, lowest values 51 MPa, same percentage Additionally, under testing, age days, these samples was 9.54 a value comparable test 10.67 despite low workability slump 25 mm. Moreover, boundary transition area analysis shows excellent connection between cement paste near siderurgical aggregate has caused no area. In contrast, observed critical areas natural aggregates.
