Microscopic origin of the enhanced piezoelectric thermal stability in acceptor doped lead-free Ba(Ti0.8Zr0.2)O3-50(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 ceramic

Acceptor doping is effective in enhancing thermal stability piezoceramics, while the reason underlying still unclear and awaits explanation. In this work, through acceptor Mn lead-free Ba(Ti0.8Zr0.2)O3-50(Ba0.7Ca0.3)TiO3 ceramic, our results show that achieves higher depolarization temperature, even than Curie temperature (TC) simultaneously a better piezoelectric stability. Through microscopic macroscopic analysis, enhancement can be explained by clamping effect induced doping, which carefully demonstrated symmetry-conforming short-range ordering tendency theory. Thus, work reveals mechanism for enhanced due to will help developing new stable piezoceramics applicable wider range.
