چکیده

Yezin Dam is a man-made reservoir located close to village in Myanmar. Its water used for irrigation, domestic purposes and as drinking many urban communities the watershed area. In recent years, increased pollution due concurrent development around dam has led quality deterioration. No detailed study on distribution of cyanobacteria toxin production been conducted so far. order provide insight into extent cyanotoxins dam, samples were collected once January 2014 isolation cyanobacterial strains eight times between March 2017 June 2018 investigation physical, chemical biological parameters. A total 99 phytoplankton taxa belonging 50 genera recorded from Dam. Microscopic examination showed that Dolichospermum sp. was dominant cyanobacterium followed by small numbers Microcystis, Raphidiopsis raciborskii all throughout sampling period. 15 isolated classified morphologically phylogenetically smithii, R. Microcystis tested microcystins (MCs), cylindrospermopsins (CYNs), saxitoxins (STXs) anatoxins (ATXs) liquid chromatography-tandem mass spectrometry (LC–MS/MS) enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA). The analysis ELISA LC–MS did not indicate presence ATXs, STXs, CYNs nor MCs. Four five produced CYN deoxyCYN. One (AB2017/08) 22 MC congeners. Concentrations 0.12 μg L−1 0.34 MCs also found an environmental sample ELISA. potential therefore exists use untreated cause harmful effects humans, wild animals.

Simultaneous cultivation of Spirulina platensis and the toxigenic cyanobacteria Microcystis aeruginosa.

Mangueira Lagoon, located in the extreme south of Brazil, has water with physicochemical characteristics such as alkaline pH and carbonate levels propitious for the growth of the cyanobacterium Spirulina platensis. Previously published studies have shown that Mangueira Lagoon water supplemented with small quantities of carbon and nitrogen is suitable for S. platensis cultivation and can signifi...

patterns and variations in native and non-native interlanguage pragmatic rating: effects of rater training, intercultural proficiency, and self-assessment

although there are studies on pragmatic assessment, to date, literature has been almost silent about native and non-native english raters’ criteria for the assessment of efl learners’ pragmatic performance. focusing on this topic, this study pursued four purposes. the first one was to find criteria for rating the speech acts of apology and refusal in l2 by native and non-native english teachers...

Impact of Nitrogen Sources on Gene Expression and Toxin Production in the Diazotroph Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii CS-505 and Non-Diazotroph Raphidiopsis brookii D9

Different environmental nitrogen sources play selective roles in the development of cyanobacterial blooms and noxious effects are often exacerbated when toxic cyanobacteria are dominant. Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii CS-505 (heterocystous, nitrogen fixing) and Raphidiopsis brookii D9 (non-N₂ fixing) produce the nitrogenous toxins cylindrospermopsin (CYN) and paralytic shellfish toxins (PSTs), ...

Sedimentation Patterns of Toxin-Producing Microcystis Morphospecies in Freshwater Reservoirs

Understanding the annual cycle of Microcystis is essential for managing the blooms of this toxic cyanobacterium. The current work investigated the sedimentation of microcystin-producing Microcystis spp. in three reservoirs from Central Spain during the summer and autumn of 2006 and 2007. We confirmed remarkable settling fluxes during and after blooms ranging 10(6)-10(9) cells m(-2) d(-1), which...

Distribution and toxicity of Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii (cyanobacteria) in portuguese freshwaters

The cyanobacterium Cylindrospermopsis raciborskii has become increasingly prevalent in freshwaters worldwide. This species is of concern from a water quality perspective due to its known ability to produce a potent hepatotoxic alkaloid cylindrospermopsin, which has been implicated in outbreaks of human sickness and cattle mortality. C. raciborskii isolates from Brazil have also been found to pr...
