Microbial synthesis of wax esters (WE) from low-cost renewable and sustainable feedstocks is a promising path to achieve cost-effectiveness in biomanufacturing. WE are industrially high-value molecules, which widely used for applications chemical, pharmaceutical, food industries. Since the natural resources limited, production mostly rely on chemical rather expensive starting materials, therefore solution sought development efficient microbial cell factories. Here we report engineer yeast Yarrowia lipolytica bacterium Escherichia coli produce at highest level up date.
