Microbial Diversity and Adaptation under Salt-Affected Soils: A Review

چکیده

The salinization of soil is responsible for the reduction in growth and development plants. As global population increases day by day, there a decrease cultivation farmland due to soil, which threatens food security. Salt-affected soils occur all over world, especially arid semi-arid regions. total area salt-affected 1 billion ha, India, an nearly 6.74 million ha?1 salt-stressed, out 2.95 are saline (including coastal) 3.78 alkali soil. rectification management salt-stressed require specific approaches sustainable crop production. Remediating chemical, physical biological methods with available resources recommended agricultural purposes. Bioremediation eco-friendly approach compared chemical methods. role microorganisms has been documented many workers bioremediation such problematic soils. Halophilic Bacteria, Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi, Cyanobacteria, plant growth-promoting rhizobacteria microbial inoculation have found be effective promotion under salt-stress conditions. mediated can adopted mitigation help increase productivity. A product consisting beneficial halophiles maintains enhances health yield This review will focus on remediation using their mechanisms interaction

Agricultural soils, pesticides and microbial diversity.

Pesticide effects on microbial community structure and activity in soil are reviewed, showing that methodological developments within the past few years have generated new possibilities for assessing pesticide effects. The first example is the use of mRNA quantification showing that nitrification processes are indeed very susceptible to some pesticides, and that there is correlation between the...

Genotypic and environmental interaction in advanced lines of wheat under salt-affected soils environment of Punjab

Wheat cultivars of diverse origin including approved varieties of different provinces of Pakistan i.e. Punjab, NWFP and Sindh were tested against different salinity levels in laboratory as well as in naturally saline fields in different ecological zones. Initially, 16 genotypes were studied for germination test at 6 different salinity levels ranging from 0-25 dS/m (2, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, EC= dS/...

Genotypic and environmental interaction in advanced lines of rice under salt-affected soils of Punjab

Sixteen genotypes developed through hybridization and mutation breeding techniques were evaluated during the year 2003-04 on nine locations covering most of the area of Punjab province including Faisalabad, Toba Tek Singh and Jhang. NIAB-IRRI-9, Jhona-379 salt tolerant genotypes and super Basmati, a salt sensitive variety were included as standard checks. The tested material (six genotypes) was...

Effectiveness of spectral data reduction in detection of salt-affected soils in a small study area

Data reduction is used to aggregate or amalgamate the large data sets into smaller and manageable information pieces in order to fast and accurate classification of different attributes. However, excessive spatial or spectral data reduction may result in losing or masking important radiometric information. Therefore, we conducted this research to evaluate the effectiveness of the different...
