Mexican leaf beetles (Coleoptera: Megalopodidae, Orsodacnidae, and Chrysomelidae): new records and checklist

This study presents an updated list of leaf beetles from Mexico (Coleoptera: Megalopodidae, Orsodacnidae, and Chrysomelidae). The first record Physonota gigantea Boheman is reported, new state records for 16 species are also reported the specimens examined in Mexican collections (CCFES-Z, CNIN, CNRF, IEXA). Synonyms geographic distribution each provided. In total, 2,556 valid 127 subspecies hitherto known, Megalopodidae comprises 31 belonging to 3 genera, Orsodacnidae 17 2 Chrysomelidae includes 2,508 327 genera. Acanthoscelides with 122 species, Lema 96 Pachybrachis 84 Cryptocephalus 77 Chlamisus 57 were most diverse states highest number Veracruz 945 Oaxaca 799, Guerrero 654, Morelos 535 species.

A new tortoise beetle species, Cyrtonota abrili, is described from the Antioquia and Caldas departments in Colombia.
