Methylene Blue Removal by Activated Carbon from Platanus Orientalis Leaves
نویسندگان
چکیده
In this study, activated carbon was produced from platanus orientalis leaves and the adsorption of methylene blue onto investigated. Facile chemical activation route conducted for process lignocellulosic leaves. ZnCl2 used as activating agent with different ratios. Morphological, structural characteristics samples were determined by using optical microscopy, Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Braunauer-Emmet-Teller spectroscopy UV-vis spectroscopy. Surface characterization showed that resulted high surface area (~1024 m2 g-1) total pore volume (~0.431 cm3 compared crude carbonized samples.

Removal of crystal violet and methylene blue from aqueous solutions by activated carbon prepared from Ferula orientalis
Ferula orientalis L. stalks were used as an agricultural solid biomass waste for preparation of activated carbon with zinc chloride activation using slow pyrolysis in a fixed-bed reactor. The chemical characteristics of the activated carbon obtained at 550 C were identified by elemental, fourier transform infrared spectroscopy, Brunauer–Emmett–Teller, scanning electron microscopy analyses and f...
متن کاملOptimization of removal of methylene blue by Platanus tree leaves using response surface methodology.
Platanus tree leaves were successfully used as a novel sorbent for removing of methylene blue (MB) dye from aqueous solutions. A 2(3) full factorial design was performed for screening of the main factors. The pH, initial concentration of dye (C(d)) and amount of sorbent (m) were considered to be the three main factors at two different levels. It was found that all these factors and their intera...

background and objectives: activated carbon is an adsorbent which is mostly employed in order to remove dye from aqueous solutions; however, commercial activated carbon is expensive and this is considered as an obstacle for its usage. therefore, the present study aimed to use waste paper as an inexpensive precursor to produce activated carbon. materials and methods: in the present study, koh wa...
متن کاملA Comparative Study for the Removal of Methylene Blue Dye from Aqueous Solution by Novel Activated Carbon Based Adsorbents
This study was conducted to assess the ability of the studied adsorbent, i.e. raw oak fruit hulls and the activated carbon prepared from oak fruit hull for removing the Methylene blue (MB) from aqueous solution. This study was conducted under various effective parameters, e.g., contact time, pH, MB concentration, adsorbent concentration. The optimum amount of each parameter was determined a...
