Methyl groups or additional aromatic groups donate tumour promoting activity.
There are many examples in chemical carcinogenesis in which the introduction of methyl groups or aromatic rings increased the potency of polycyclic hydrocarbons and aromatic amines. Examination of the data in the light of the multistage process of carcinogenesis indicates that these groups convert initiators into complete carcinogens. As complete carcinogens have both initiating and promoting a...
متن کاملDetermining whether positively-charged channel-forming molecules of polyene antibiotic with aromatic groups affect muscle activity?
This article evaluates the effect of membrane active channel-forming polyene antibiotic (PA) of levorin and its alkyl derivatives on the muscle performance. The membrane channels of muscle cells are capable to transport ions of potassium, sodium, and calcium. In the period of an intensive muscle exercise, the necessity for organic substrates increases and these channels start to work with the g...

متن کاملAromatic ionomers with superacid groups.
Aromatic polymers containing perfluorosulfonic acid groups show well-developed and interconnected ionic clusters, and thus high proton conductivity at wide humidity range.
متن کاملSpin-lattice Relaxation of Reorienting or Tunneling Deuterated Methyl Groups
Tae spin-lattice relaxation of deuterated methyl groups, which is exponential at high temperatures, becomes non-exponential at low temperatures as evidence of the coupling between the Zeeman and tunneling systems. The dominant relaxation is considered to be the quadrupole interaction. Experimental results at liquid nitrogen and liquid helium temperatures support the theoretical model.
