Methods for nitrogen activation by reduction and oxidation

چکیده
The industrial Haber–Bosch process to produce ammonia (NH3) from dinitrogen (N2) is crucial for modern society. However, N2 activation inherently challenging and the has significant drawbacks, as it highly energy intensive, not sustainable owing substantial CO2 emissions primarily generation of H2 requires large, centralized facilities. New strategies activation, such low-temperature thermochemical catalysis (photo)electrocatalysis, have been pursued, but progress hindered by lack rigour reproducibility in collection analysis results. In this Primer, we provide a holistic step protocol, applicable all nitrogen-transformation reactions, focused on verifying genuine accounting contamination sources. We compare state-of-the-art results different catalytic reactions following protocol’s framework, discuss necessary reporting metrics ways interpret both experimental density functional theory This Primer covers various common pitfalls field, best practices improve cost-efficient methods carry out rigorous experimentation. future nitrogen will require an increase experimentation standardization prevent false positives appearing literature, which can enable advancing towards practical technologies N2. highlights range new protocol evaluating activity. required how data alongside development are discussed.

Optimization and Modeling of CuOx/OMWNT’s for Catalytic Reduction of Nitrogen Oxides by Response Surface Methodology
A series of copper oxide (CuOx) catalysts supported by oxidized multi-walled carbon nanotubes (OMWNT’s) were prepared by the wet impregnation method for the low temperature (200 °C) selective catalytic reduction of nitrogen oxides (NOx) using NH3 as a reductant agent in the presence of excess oxygen. These catalysts were characterized by FTIR, XRD, SEM-EDS, and H2-TPR meth...

15 صفحه اولStudies on Oxidation and Reduction by Pneumococcus
1. The systems responsible for oxidation and reduction in the pneumococcus cell have been shown to consist of two components, the nature of which has been discussed. 2. The oxidizing and reducing power of active extracts of pneumococci is inactivated by exposure to air. This loss in activity is due to an inactivation of the thermolabile cellular component consequent on secondary reactions analo...

or perhaps a decade, Suc1 was the hardy little protein that featured in almost every cell cycle paper. But it was used only as a reagent—its binding to cyclindependent kinases (such as Cdc2 or Cdc28) yielded nearly pure MPF. Then the budding yeast version, called Cks1, was found to be essential for growth. Now, May Morris, Steven Reed, and colleagues (The Scripps Research Institute, La Jolla, C...
متن کاملNew Methods for Harmonic Reduction in T. C. R. by Sequence Control of Transformer Taps
Thyristor controlled static compensators consist of two basic schemes, TCR and TSC. Owing to the discontinuous current in TCR, current harmonics are generated in the supply system. This paper introduces two methods for the reduction of these harmonics. On the basis of the coordination or uncoordination of turn ratios with harmonic reduction levels, each method is described in two alternative sc...
