Torsional vibrations are inherently present in every rotating powertrain. In resonant conditions, torsional can be significantly amplified. A typical method to reduce the vibration particularly at resonance is modify natural frequencies with component design. Commonly, a straightforward for modification adjustment of stiffness coupling. This study presents using coupling design continuously adjustable stiffness. The presented investigated analysis and experimental measurements. was utilized predict effects varying measurements were conducted by attaching powertrain measuring change while adjusted. determined from identifying induced response excited system load motor. showed that first frequency changed 15.6 Hz 43.0 as results compared determine performance realized indicated agree well experimentally measured results. prediction errors generally below ±5%, which typically considered margin accurate analysis.
