Methane conversion to syngas by chemical looping on La0.8Sr0.2FexCo1-xO3 (x = 0, 0.25, 0.50, 0.75) perovskites with CO2 co-feeding

Abstract Partial oxidation of methane (POM) by chemical looping with CO 2 co-feeding on La 0.8 Sr 0.2 FeO 3 (LSF) perovskite catalyst yielded a highly selective operation and enabled to extend the duration reduction cycle. In this work, conversion syngas was studied Fe (x) Co (1-x) O (x = 0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75) perovskites in chemical-looping mode, methane. The reaction conducted at 850 °C, 15 min (10% N , 0–3% ), 10 ) cycles. activity decreased increasing content, absence due intensified coke deposition catalyst. Addition during step (1–3%) reduced accumulation. A run CoO (LSC) continuous feeding periodical (on–off) indicated that reacts accumulated reverse-Boudouard reaction, selectivity without affecting conversion. XRD analysis Co-containing indicates decreasing content. Metallic phases increased as content fresh increased, deposition. As process shifts from POM oxygen replenishment cracking followed (LSC).
