The diverse design freedom and exotic electromagnetic properties of metasurfaces enable them to achieve unprecedented capability superiority with regard conventional optical elements. Herein, a bifunctional microwave metasurface an asymmetric bidirection transmission phase that can be controlled is reported. proposed composed bilayered double-arrow-shaped structures sandwiching subwavelength metal grating. Such not only linear polarization (LP) conversion for two oppositely directed wave incidences but also control independently by introducing rotation adjusting the geometrical parameters structures. breaks symmetry realizes different functions opposite propagation directions, such as deflection focusing, orbital angular momentum (OAM) mode generation, holographic imaging. experimental results suggest Janus further exploited attractive platform various applications ranging from reconfigurable beam antenna multifunctional imaging, sensing, information processing.
