Metamorphic Facies and Deformation Fabrics Diagnostic of Subduction: Insights From 2D Numerical Models

چکیده
We developed a 2D numerical model that simulates the evolution of subduction in order to analyze which different metamorphic facies and deformation fabrics can be recorded within complex whether velocity influence their distribution. Regions with pressure temperature (P-T) conditions characteristic have been explored domains system verify existence associations may result as diagnostic specific areas at times. Distribution patterns strain rates relative also investigated they under conditions. Our results show three characterized by contrasting simultaneously observed regions complex, contrast widespread idea series are representative peculiar geodynamic scenarios, but agreement commonly coexistence contrasted P-T orogenic belts. In addition, we verified mylonitic develop more frequently high Pressure/Temperature (P/T) ratios, while coronitic fabric better preserved low-to-medium P/T ratios.

The Role of Deformation in the Formation of Metamorphic Gradients: Ridge Subduction beneath the Oman Ophiolite
Two tectonic scenarios have been proposed for genesis and emplacement of the Oman ophiolite. One suggests that the ophiolite was generated at a spreading center, the other suggests generation within an intraoceanic arc. An integrated thermal and kinematic model of the temperature, stress, rock type, and displacement fields during early stages of the emplacement ofthe Oman ophiolite was develope...
