Metal–Organic Framework-Derived Mn/Ni Dual-Metal Single-Atom Catalyst for Efficient Oxygen Reduction Reaction

Non-precious-metal-based oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) catalysts hold great prospects for rechargeable metal–air batteries and reversible electrolyzer/fuel cell systems. Among the various earth-abundant noble-metal-free catalysts, Mn- Ni-based single-atom (SACs) are attracting attention ORRs. Herein, we designed a facile efficient strategy to obtain Mn/Ni dual-metal in which atomic Mn Ni sites were dispersed on nitrogen-doped porous carbon. The optimized showed excellent ORR electrocatalytic performance with half-wave potential of 0.803 V, comparable that commercial Pt/C catalysts. Meanwhile, electron transfer number was determined be 3.9, indicating good four-electron process. attributed N-doped carbon structure large specific surface area, afforded abundant active anchor single atoms.
