چکیده
A batch adsorption method for sorting large-diameter single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWCNTs) is described that employs a hydrophobic-interaction chromatography (HIC) adsorbent and single nonionic surfactant. The based on the creation of significant differences between metallic semiconductor SWCNTs in their affinity to HIC adsorbent. These are then used efficient separation electronic forms SWCNTs. To gain better understanding mechanism involved, effects various adsorbents under different pH conditions were studied. results obtained demonstrate importance type density hydrophobic functional groups determining relative strength adsorptive interactions also show negatively charged adventitious nanotube hydrophobicity nanotubes. here implemented using widely-available adsorbents, only requires simple titration with HCl or NaOH adjust pH. Furthermore, potentially suitable be performed liquid packed column liquid-phase gradient order achieve high-resolution separations.

Investigation of the interaction of carbon dioxide fluid with internal and external single-wall carbon nanotubes by DFT
The effective parameters of (5, 0) and (5, 5) single-wall carbon nanotubes during the interaction with carbon dioxide as sensors are determined. The interaction of carbon dioxide molecules with internal and external walls of the nanotubes is studied using Gaussian 03 coding by density functional theory (DFT) at the B3LYP/6-311G level of theory. CO2 rotation around tube axles vertically and par...

We study the solubility and dispersibility of as-produced and purified HiPco single-walled carbon nanotubes (SWNTs). Variation in specific operating conditions of the HiPco process are found to lead to significant differences in the respective SWNT solubilities in oleum and surfactant suspensions. The diameter distributions of SWNTs dispersed in surfactant solutions are batch-dependent, as evid...

Ž . Single-walled carbon nanotubes SWNTs have been synthesized at milligram per hour rates by the catalytic decomposition of both carbon monoxide and ethylene over a supported metal catalyst known to produce larger multiwalled nanotubes. Under certain conditions, there is no termination of nanotube growth, and production appears to be limited only by the diffusion of reactant gas through the pr...

We report in situ measurements of four-probe dc resistance ~R! and thermopower ~S! of Csand K-doped single-wall carbon nanotube ~SWNT! mats as a function of a doping and temperature ~T!. With increasing dopant exposure, the mat resistance has been found to first decrease and then increase, exhibiting a minimum for optimal Cs doping. In contrast, for K doping, the mat resistance decreased monoto...
متن کاملMetal–insulator–semiconductor electrostatics of carbon nanotubes
Carbon nanotube metal–insulator–semiconductor capacitors are examined theoretically. For the densely packed array of nanotubes on a planar insulator, the capacitance per tube is reduced due to the screening of the charge on the gate plane by the neighboring nanotubes. In contrast to the silicon metal–oxide–semiconductor capacitors, the calculated C – V curves reflect the local peaks of the one-...
