چکیده

Christia vespertilionis (L.f.) Bakh. f. is an ornamental plant with unique butterfly-shaped leaves, hence its vernacular name “butterfly wing” or “rerama” in Malay. In Malaysia, the green-leafed variety of this has gained popularity recent years due to testimonial reports by local consumers medicinal uses, which include treatment for cancer. Despite these popular there very limited information on phytochemistry leaf plant, presenting a significant gap cheminformatics species. Herein, we report substantially detailed phytochemical profile metabolome C. vespertilionis, obtained deploying untargeted tandem mass spectrometry-based molecular networking approach. The inspection network map generated enabled putative identification 60 metabolites, comprising 13 phenolic acids, 20 flavonoids, 2 benzyltetrahydroisoquinoline-type alkaloids, 4 hydroxyjasmonic acid derivatives, phenethyl 3 monoacylglycerols, fatty amides, chlorophyll carotenoids, organic 1 nucleoside, and amino acids. Flavonoids are major class metabolites that characterize leaves. Employing mass-targeted isolation approach, two new derivatives apigenin-6-C-?-glucoside, constituents leaf, were successfully purified spectroscopically characterized as apigenin-6-C-?-glucoside 4?-O-?-apiofuranoside (28) apigenin-6-C-?-[(4?,6?-O-dimalonyl)-glucoside] (47). This work provides further chemical space prerequisite research towards valorization potential phytopharmaceutical product.
