Mesenchymal Tumors in Gastrointestinal Tract

چکیده
Mesenchymal neoplasms arising in the digestive tract are rare compared to adenomas and carcinomas [1]. They include several entities with histomorphological similarity immunohistochemistry helps confirm diagnosis [2]. Our goals study epidemiological aspect of mesenchymal tumors, compare histological diagnoses before after use immunochemistry. This is a retrospective, descriptive, single-center performed on all cases tumors gastrointestinal tract, diagnosed at laboratory Pathological Anatomy Unit Joseph Ravoahangy Andrianavalona University Hospital from January 1, 2007 December 31, 2018. We included 29 cases. The mean age was 43.28 years. sex ratio 1.07. After immunohistochemical examination, 24.14% changed GISTs which most common tumor involving tract. In GIST should first be ruled out making other diagnoses. Histologic immunophenotypic features thereby essential. According literature review, if c-Kit DOG-1 negative, molecular biology must used.

Hamartomatous Tumors in the Gastrointestinal Tract.
BACKGROUND Digestive hamartomatous polyps are a rare entity. They may be sporadic (solitary Peutz-Jeghers polyp or solitary juvenile polyp) or reveal genetic predisposition like Peutz-Jeghers syndrome, juvenile polyposis or Cowden disease. SUMMARY Diagnosis is based on personal and family history and on clinical data including physical signs (in particular dermatological), endoscopic findings...
متن کاملNeuroendocrine Tumors of the Gastrointestinal Tract.
Gastrointestinal neuroendocrine tumours are classified as functioning or non-functioning according to the presence or absence of a clinically evident hypersecretion syndrome. In foregut tumours the presence of autonomous hormone secretion and the respective hypersecretion syndrome indicate functionality. Abdominal ultrasound (US), computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance tomography (MRT) an...
متن کاملGastrointestinal tract spindle cell tumors with interstitial cells of Cajal: Prevalence excluding gastrointestinal stromal tumors
Leiomyomas and schwannomas of the gastrointestinal tract (GIT) are mainly comprised of spindle-shaped tumor cells and should always be differentiated from gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs). Mast/stem cell growth factor receptor Kit (KIT) and discovered on GIST-1 (DOG1) are well-known diagnostic markers for the detection of a GIST by immunohistochemical staining. The aim of the present stu...
متن کاملPromotion of gastrointestinal tract tumors in animals: dietary factors.
The biological mode of action of tumor promoters, exemplified by the phorbol esters, is a subject of intensive study in a number of laboratories. A few investigators have recently begun to examine the role of dietary nutrients in tumor promotion, but the available data are sparse and interpretation difficult. A few examples are provided to indicate that some nutrients may be important in the pr...
متن کاملMolecular predictive markers in tumors of the gastrointestinal tract
Gastrointestinal malignancies are among the leading causes of cancer-related deaths worldwide. Like all human malignancies they are characterized by accumulation of mutations which lead to inactivation of tumor suppressor genes or activation of oncogenes. Advances in Molecular Biology techniques have allowed for more accurate analysis of tumors' genetic profiling using new breakthrough technolo...
