چکیده

The important invasive thrips species Hawaiian flower thrips, Thrips hawaiiensis (Morgan, 1913) (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) was first reported in Türkiye 2015. Since then, it has been causing damage lemon orchards. This study conducted to reveal the most effective insecticides, spraying time and efficacy of biological control. For this purpose, effectiveness five insecticides (480 g/l spinosad, 25% spinetoram, 100 spirotetramat, 50% flonicamid, 240 tau-fluvalinate), effect three spray programs predatory bug Orius laevigatus (Fieber, 1860) (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae) were tested a orchard [Citrus limon (L.) (Rutales: Rutaceae)] Erdemli district Mersin province 2018 2019. In order determine time, tested. Program 1, two sprays during flowering period applied. 2, applied, one at petal fall other small fruiting stage. 3, stages According results, tau-fluvalinate flonicamid showed lowest programs. Spinetoram found others. Insecticide applications control T. (Program 1) had low efficacy. 3 be effective. Predatory O. laevigatus, as agent have potential for suppressing populations.

Effects of Bt cotton on Thrips tabaci (Thysanoptera: Thripidae) and its predator, Orius insidiosus (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae).

Laboratory studies were conducted to investigate tritrophic transfer of insecticidal Cry proteins from transgenic cotton to an herbivore and its predator, and to examine effects of these proteins on the predator's development, survival, and reproduction. Cry1Ac and Cry2Ab proteins from the bacterium Bacillus thuringiensis (Bt) produced in Bollgard-II (BG-II, Event 15985) cotton plants were acqu...

ARTHROPOD BIOLOGY Influence of Male Age and Diet on Reproductive Potential of Orius laevigatus (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae)

When assessing the reproductive potential of laboratory-reared predatory insects, the role of males is often neglected, although they may have a signiÞcant impact on the reproductive output of their female mates. The current study investigated the effect of age and diet of males on the reproductive capacity of the anthocorid predator Orius laevigatus (Fieber) (Hemiptera: Anthocoridae). The test...

Micropropagation of mature tree of Citrus limon

A protocol for in vitro cloning of mature plants of Citrus limon using nodal shoot segments has been developed. Three to four shoots were induced per axillary meristems on MS medium amended with 9 μM BAP. Repeated transfer of the initial explants for up to six passages on MS medium [having 50% of the original concentrations of NH4NO3 and KNO3, and supplement of 250 mg L (NH4)2SO4] with 0.22 μM ...

Identity of Two Sympatric Species of Orius (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Anthocoridae)

The minute pirate bugs, Orius insidiosus (Say) and Orius pumilio (Champion) (Hemiptera: Heteroptera: Anthocoridae), are closely related species known to be sympatric in north Florida. Here, male and female genitalia, DNA sequences, and the effects of within- and between-species pairings on egg production and egg development were examined to develop a better understanding of the relationship bet...
