Mental Health of Iranian College Students in a Nationally Representative Sample of over 74,500 Individuals: Scale Development and Standardization

This study sought to develop the College Mental Health Scale (CMHS) as a screening instrument among Iranian college students. In total, nationally representative sample (N = 74,571) was selected match student population throughout country. first study, conceptual framework developed and pool of items based on most prevalent mental disorders in students were devised. second psychometric properties CMHS examined (n 600). The third conducted two phases. phase 2,750), explanatory factor analysis used for reaching better structure 2,750) invariability correlation with related measure examined. result revealed 56-item measurement scale consisting seven dimensions disorders. fourth 68,471), male female norms developed. has adequate reliability validity can be assessment students’ health problems Iran.
