Mental health and burnout among teachers in Thailand

Purpose This study investigated factors that impacted the mental health and burnout among kindergarten, primary secondary school teachers in Thailand presented a comprehensive intervention program to improve their wellbeing. Design/methodology/approach cross-sectional survey included 267 from five public schools Thailand. The instruments Depression, Anxiety Stress Scale Maslach Burnout Inventory for Educators Survey, along with data on demographics, behaviors, finances, professional work, relationships resilience. Findings For teacher health, results indicated family economics status, relationship quality resilience were significant predictors of depression ( R 2 = 0.19); classroom size significantly predicted anxiety 0.13); gender, sleep stress 0.20). burnout, age emotional exhaustion 0.15); drinking depersonalization 0.06); number teaching hours personal accomplishment 0.28). Originality/value Besides providing an in-depth examination teachers, this is first propose Teacher Wellness Program. recommends development plans personnel administrators could utilize reduce teachers.
