PVC Sewer System Seismic Analysis Made Practical
MSC is announcing a new business offering based upon a breakthrough technology. MSC has developed a means by which design engineers or occasional CAE software users can reliably perform complex engineering analysis with the same resultant quality as do the dedicated analysis experts. This breakthrough technology captures the expert’s engineering knowledge and specific process solution methodolo...
متن کاملAcoustic properties of 3D printed bio-degradable micro-perforated panels made of Corkwood Fiber-Reinforced composites
Introduction: Micro perforated panel (MPP) absorbents promise the next generation of sound absorbers as they have significant advantages over other porous adsorbents. In this study, we will investigate the acoustic performance of MPP absorbents made of biodegradable polylactic acid composite reinforced with natural corkwood fibers (PLA/Corkwood) by 3D printing technology. Material and Methods:...
متن کاملImpact of interstitial air holes on a wide-bandwidth rejection filter made from a photonic crystal fiber.
We have investigated the spectral properties of a band rejection filter made with a long-period fiber grating written in photonic crystal fiber that has interstitial air holes. Experiments showed that only one mode was coupled strongly to the fundamental core mode over a 600 nm spectral range. The central wavelength of the filter could be tuned over that range without being appreciably affected...
متن کاملMechanical Behavior of Concrete, Made with Micro-Nano Air Bubbles
Nano materials have been widely used in laboratory and industrial scales in order to improve various properties of concrete and concrete mixture. The mainstream practice of the researches in this field is to add metallic nano-particles into the concrete mixture. The present research focuses on adding Micro-Nano Air Bubbles (MNAB) into water before mixing it with aggregate and cement mixtures. I...
متن کاملElectrically driven motion of micro-fluids in air-silica microstructure fiber: application to tunable filter/attenuator
We present an approach for manipulating light in an optical fiber where efficient modal field interaction is achieved between modes propagating in an air-silica microstructure optical fiber and micro-fluids incorporated in the air-holes of the fiber. We demonstrate this apporach in terms of applications to tunable devices.
