Melting performance enhancement of febro-hydrodynamic carreau non-Newtonian PCM in porous media: A geometrical evaluation

In this paper melting of a carreau non-Newtonian PCM in the space between two concentric horizontal tubes, which is partially filled with porous material different shapes but same area, investigated numerically. A magnetic source located center geometry for process to occur presence ferro-hydrodynamic effects. Porous made Cu that covers cross-section inner tube. addition, and outer tubes saturated paraffin-wax PCM. Flow melted considered as Carreau non-Newtonian, laminar incompressible flow viscous dissipation evaluated specific time interval. Boussinesq approximation valid Also local thermal equilibrium condition assumed Galerkin finite element method has been utilized solve problem. Results showed rate higher third model comparison other models. effects number depends on shape medium. Therefore, increase number, increasingly enhances progress front second case. Moreover, index, Stefan porosity are studied.
