The use of prohibited food additives such as formalin is still often found, especially in the school environment. In fact, based on 2012 Minister Health Regulation No. 033, a additive. This phenomenon requires people to be quite observant choosing tools. addition, many think that content test can only done through laboratory, also by simple reagent containing anthocyanin dragon fruit skin. So, researchers designed STEAM-based media with natural formaldehyde-detecting ingredient, namely red peel extract. design divided into two parts, steam-based and manufacture extract detect formaldehyde food. was carried out Grade VIII students at SMP Negeri 6 Jember. final tool produced detector marker.
