چکیده
Among the multiple classes of mechanofluorochromic (MFC) compounds reported in recent years, simple donor–acceptor molecules involving oligooxyethylene N-substituted diphenylamine connected to a dicyanovinyl group by thienyl spacer constitute specific class mechano-stimulable smart materials with unique combination properties including turn-on mechanofluorochromism red-light photoluminescence emission, turn-off second harmonic generation, and self-recovery ambient conditions. While dynamics MFC processes thin films these have already been investigated, correlation behavior observed at macroscale elemental taking place micro- nanoscopic scales remains largely unexplored. In this work, atomic force microscopy (AFM) coupled wide-field confocal optical microscopies is used investigate turn-on/recovery microcrystals nanostructures. It shown that red light nano-objects can be turned-on contact AFM intensity emission linearly correlated applied nominal force. Recovery associated decrease intensity, which reactivated again subsequent scans. These results thus pave way toward development micro-/nanoscale recoverable force-sensing technologies based on particular molecular materials.

Material Charactarization for a Terfenol–d Based Force Sensor
In this paper the magneto–elastic–effect is taken under further investigation, to determine the utility of the novel material Terfenol–D in force sensor applications. A measurement set–up is designed and the characteristic material parameters like magnetization diagram, butterfly diagram and the reluctance dependent on the applied mechanical load is determined. The results demonstrate that it i...
متن کاملModeling and analysis of a three-component piezoelectric force sensor
This paper presents a mathematical model for the vibration analysis of a three-component piezoelectric force sensor. The cubic theory of weakly nonlinear electroelasticity is applied to the model for describing the electromechanical coupling effect in the piezoelectric sensing elements which operate in thickness-shear and thickness-stretch vibration modes. Hamilton's principle is used to derive...

متن کاملPrototyping of a highly performant and integrated piezoresistive force sensor for microscale applications
In this paper, the prototyping of a new piezoresistive microforce sensor is presented. An original design taking advantage on both mechanical and bulk piezoresistive properties of silicon is presented and enables to easily fabricate a very small, large range, high sensitivity with high integration potential sensor. The sensor is made of two silicon strain gages for which widespread and known mi...
متن کاملWhat Determines Knudsen Force at the Microscale
Knudsen forces arise in microscale systems when there is a thermal gradient with a characteristic length scale comparable to the molecular mean free path of the ambient gas. These forces are sometimes referred as radiometric or thermo-molecular forces [1] and have been recently measured experimentally in a microscale configuration using heated atomic force microscopy (AFM) probes [2]. The Knuds...
