Mechanism of high-speed train carbody shaking due to degradation of wheel-rail contact geometry

The carbody shaking phenomenon (CSP) can greatly reduce the ride comfort of high-speed trains. To investigate abnormal vibration feature and causes CSP, extensive field measurements numerical simulations were conducted. A three-dimensional rigid-flexible coupled dynamic model a vehicle is constructed to reproduce CSP reveal key influence factors, in which finite element updated based on experimental modal data. test show that main frequency accelerations appear around 7.90 Hz, close natural diamond mode. simulation results demonstrate caused by resonance vibrations induced bogie hunting motion, triggered deterioration wheel-rail contact geometry. When train passes through turnouts at high speed, impact will further aggravate CSPs.
