چکیده
Abstract The need to manufacture lightweight structures from ultra-high-strength steels is forcing industry look for new joining technologies. Hybrid joints are one of the ways join materials. This paper investigates ultra-high strength steel plates using laser welding and adhesive bonding. Steel used in this was abrasion resistant (AR600) with tensile (Rm) ≥ 2 GPa. Three different epoxy adhesives were experiments. weld morphologies investigated optical microscopy. mechanical properties lap evaluated by hardness measurements shear tests. Examining profiles joints, it became clear that causes an air gap between plates, which affects morphology joint. caused increased width at interface plates. approximately 25% larger adhesive-bonded Based on tests, use addition significantly improved best laser-welded joint 84% higher than

Study on Microstructure and Mechanical Properties of Laser Welded Joints of 1.7225 Steel
The aim of the present study is to investigate the mechanical and microstructural properties of 1.7225 steel in laser welding process using Nd:YAG pulsed laser device and then to determine the optimal focal length relative to the part in the welding area. After welding, microstructural characterization, microhardness and tensile tests were performed. Evaluations showed that the optimal focal le...

متن کاملThe Influence of Ultrasonic Impact Treatment on Fatigue Behaviour of Welded Joints in High-strength Steel
The unabated growth of the steel industry and progressively increasing operating loads on metal structures generate a need for a search for optimum engineering solutions to improve the loadcarrying capacity and reduce metal consumption. One way of resolving this problem is to utilise high-strength steels. It is common knowledge however that the improvement of the steel strength is accompanied b...
متن کاملFatigue behaviour of composite adhesive lap joints
This paper is concerned with a fatigue study of composite adhesive lap joints produced from a bi-directional woven E-glass fibres and polypropylene. The adhesive used was a Bostik 7452 (Rubber & Plastics Grade) ethyl cyanoacrylate type. The effects of layer orientation, lap joint length and water immersion on the fatigue behaviour were studied. The specimens were immersed in water during period...
