چکیده

In this experimental investigation, the influence of graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) on dynamic behavior polymeric material such as diglycidyl ether bisphenol A (DGEBA) epoxy is investigated using Split Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB). Nanocomposite samples with a different weight percentage GNPs i.e. 0, 1, 2, 5 wt% were fabricated and tested under compression to understand nanofillers mechanical performance epoxy. The results established that changing mass fraction greatly influences confirmed optimal was 1 because good dispersion viscosity. While, further increase in resulted degradation strength agglomeration sheets, porosity, their poor interfacial bonding. Moreover, each nanocomposites at three impact pressures 1.5, 4 bar. main objective quantify effect strain rate resulting damage modes. This study high increases viscosity porosity void structure which generates high-localised stresses into matrix causing premature failure loading.

Effect of Defects on Mechanical Properties of Graphene under Shear Loading Using Molecular Dynamic Simulation

Graphene sheet including single vacancy, double vacancy and Stone-Wales with armchair and zigzag structure was simulated using molecular dynamics simulation. The effect of defects on shear’s modulus, shear strength and fracture  strain was investigated. Results showed that these shear properties reduce when the degrees of all kinds of defects increase. The dangling bond in SV and DV defected gr...

Thermal and Mechanical Behavior of Hybrid Polymer Nanocomposite Reinforced with Graphene Nanoplatelets

In the present investigation, we successfully fabricate a hybrid polymer nanocomposite containing epoxy/polyester blend resin and graphene nanoplatelets (GNPs) by a novel technique. A high intensity ultrasonicator is used to obtain a homogeneous mixture of epoxy/polyester resin and graphene nanoplatelets. This mixture is then mixed with a hardener using a high-speed mechanical stirrer. The trap...

Mechanical and In Vitro Biological Performance of Graphene Nanoplatelets Reinforced Calcium Silicate Composite

Calcium silicate (CaSiO3, CS) ceramic composites reinforced with graphene nanoplatelets (GNP) were prepared using hot isostatic pressing (HIP) at 1150°C. Quantitative microstructural analysis suggests that GNP play a role in grain size and is responsible for the improved densification. Raman spectroscopy and scanning electron microscopy showed that GNP survived the harsh processing conditions o...
