چکیده
The mechanical properties of a nominally phase pure ZrB2 ceramic were measured up to 2300°C in an argon atmosphere. was hot pressed at 2000°C utilizing borothermally synthesized powder from high purity ZrO2 and B raw materials. relative density the ceramics about 95% with average grain size 8.8 µm. room temperature flexural strength 447 MPa, decreasing 196 MPa 1800°C, then increasing 360 2300°C. 1800°C likely controlled by combination effects: surface damage oxidation specimens, stress relaxation, decreases elastic modulus. above flaws range consistent sizes maximum largest pores. Fracture toughness 2.3 MPa·m1/2 temperature, 3.1 2200°C. use higher starting materials improved behavior ultra-high regime compared previous studies.

Mechanical Properties of Gypsum Board at Elevated Temperatures
Gypsum board is a common fire barrier used in house and general building construction. Recently, evaluation of the collapses of the World Trade Center Towers highlighted the potential role and failure of gypsum board in containing the fires and resisting damage. The use of gypsum board as primary fire protection of light-flame wood or steel construction is ubiquitous. Yet knowledge of the commo...

Ultrahigh temperature ceramics (UHTCs) such as diborides of zirconium, hafnium tantalum and their composites are considered to be the candidate materials for thermal protection systems of hypersonic vehicles due to their exceptional combination of physical, chemical and mechanical properties. A composite of ZrB2-TiB2 is expected to have better properties. In this study, an attempt has been made...

متن کاملTHE DEFORMATION BEHAVIOR OF AZ31 MAGNESIUM ALLOY AT ELEVATED TEMPERATURES
AZ31 magnesium alloy is considered as a promising alloy in various applications and industries. Furthermore, to design a proper hot working process (rolling, forging and extrusion), the assessment of hot working behaviour of the alloy is necessary. Accordingly, the hot deformation behaviour of AZ31 alloy was studied through hot compression testing method This was carried out in a wide range of ...

The mechanical behaviors of the thixoforged in situ Mg2Sip/AM60B composite at elevated temperatures were evaluated. The results indicated that the thixoforged composite exhibits higher UTS (ultimate tensile strength) than that of the thixoforged AM60B at the cost of elongation. As the testing temperature rises from 25 to 300 ◦C, the UTS of both these two materials decreases while their elongati...
