Mechanical Properties and Binary-Medium-Based Constitutive Model for Coral-Reef Limestone Samples Subjected to Uniaxial Loading

چکیده

The mechanical and deformation mechanism of coral-reef limestone is vital for the stability safety infrastructures built on ground composed those materials. Upon loading, strain softening behavior occurs, usually due to nonuniform cementation distribution, within samples may break up gradually reduce bearing capacity. In order study their features, uniaxial compression tests were carried out in this study, and, based test results, a binary-medium-based constitutive model was formulated, which, sample idealized, respectively, as bonded frictional elements. elements are strong transform into elements, both which bear external loading conjointly. new model, parameters determination method adopted testing, comparisons made between tested computed demonstrate that can reflect salient features samples, such bonding breakage during process. provide basis basic design limestone.
