The main objective of this study is to compare the mechanical behavior two sands (Hostun or Dune sands) mixed with crushed rubber obtained from used tires. However, it essential ensure that his geotechnical application do not result in long-term negative impacts on environment. chemical properties these are given by energy dispersive analysis X-ray fluorescence spectrometry. mineral composition performed diffractometry. morphological characteristics sand grains images scanning electron microscope. This based 120 direct shear tests sand-rubber aggregate mixtures. results show content aggregates has a significant effect strength mixtures both cases sand. In fact, mixture increases increasing up 20% for different normal stresses. test also shows angular shape interparticle friction. contribution structure mobilized friction analyzed comparing Hostun and dune
