چکیده

Cold rolling process in metal could increase its strength and hardness, but also induces mechanical anisotropy. This is caused by unresolved plastic strain microstructural changes deformation exerted pair of rolls at a relatively low temperature. research aims to provide understandings on anisotropic rate sensitive behaviour St-37 mild steel. The microstructure rolled unrolled plate were observed 3 directions relative the direction. cylindrical specimens then prepared from with 33.3% reduction orientation 0o, 45o, 90o Specimens as comparison same directions. These tested compression loading, first quasi-static condition, using Split-Hopkinson Pressure Bar (SHPB) 1200 s-1. experimental results form stress-strain curves are used obtain parameters Simplified Johnson-Cook viscoplastic model. anisotropy yield be seen both high where highest found perpendicular In addition, effect cold sensitivity material captured successfully this study, show less compared specimens.

Influence of High Strain Rates on the Mechanical Behavior of High-Manganese Steels

In this work, dynamic mechanical properties of three high-manganese steels with TRIP/TWIP or fully TWIP characteristics are studied. High strain rate experiments in the range of true strain rates between ~500 and 1800 /s are conducted using a dynamic torsional testing setup. All the three steels show a positive strain rate sensitivity in the intermediate range of strain rates (up to 500 /s). Bu...

Mechanical Behavior of BFRP-Steel Composite Plate under Axial Tension

Combining the advantages of basalt fiber-reinforced polymer (BFRP) material and steel material, a novel BFRP-steel composite plate (BSP) is proposed, where a steel plate is sandwiched between two outer BFRP laminates. The main purpose of this research is to investigate the mechanical behavior of the proposed BSP under uniaxial tension and cyclic tension. Four groups of BSP specimens with four d...

Anisotropy of Thermal Fatigue Properties of Cold-Rolled TiNi Sheet

The texture of cold-rolled and heat-treated TiNi sheet has been measured and designated as {110}(1i0)p. This material has been used in thermal fatigue tests during and after which the anisotropy and development of several thermomechanical properties, such as transformation temperatures and strains, have been measured. Furthermore, the resulting changes of texture after thermal fatigue are prese...

PREDICTION OF HOT DEFORMATION BEHAVIOUR OF A PH STAINLESS STEEL AT HIGH STRAIN RATES

In this study the hot deformation behaviour of a precipitation hardened (PH) stainless steel at high strain rates has been predicted through hot compression testing. Stress-strain curves were obtained for a range of strain rates from 10-3 to 10+1 S-1 and temperatures from 850 to 1150°C. Results obtained by microstructure and stress-strain curves show that at low temperatures and high strain rat...
