Measuring Height Difference Using Two-Way Satellite Time and Frequency Transfer

چکیده

According to general relativity theory (GRT), the clock at a position with lower geopotential ticks slower than an identical one higher geopotential. Here, we provide comparison using non-transportable hydrogen and transportable for altitude transmission based on two-way satellite time frequency transfer (TWSTFT) technique. First, set fifth floor another ground floor, their height difference of 22.8 m measured by tape, compared between these two clocks TWSTFT 13 days. Then, both seven days zero-baseline calibration (synchronization). Based different floors, obtained 28.0 ± 5.4 m, which coincides well tape-measured result. This experiment provides method propagation precise

Progress on Two-way Satellite Time Transfer using DPN Signals

The use of dual pseudo-random noise (DPN) signals for two-way satellite time and frequency transfer (TWSTFT) improves the time transfer precision such that it is approximately one order of magnitude better than that of conventional TWSTFT. The interference between the transmission signals must be considered to further improve the time transfer precision because the DPN signal uses very narrowba...

Earth Station Errors in Two-Way Time and Frequency Transfer

We have investigated the earth station errors in two-way time transfer. A 3.7-m earth station and a very small aperture terminal earth station were used in these experiments along with a transponder located on a mountain about 10 km away. The temperature coefficient of the receive delay for the 3.7 m NIST earth station was ( 150 30) ps/K, and the temperature coefficient for the transmit delay w...

Low-cost monitoring of the wavelength difference of two transmitters for two-way time transfer over optical fibre

Accurate time transfer is routinely performed using GPS, however an order of magnitude better accuracy can be achieved when signal transfer over optical fibres is used (e.g., in [1], fibre transfer over 73 km with <100 ps precision was achieved as compared to <700 ps for the GPS-based system). Unfortunately, the propagation delay through an optical fibre changes due to temperature variation. Th...

Impact of turbulent phase noise on frequency transfer with asymmetric two-way ground-satellite coherent optical links

Bidirectional ground-satellite laser links suffer from turbulence-induced scintillation and phase distortion. We study how turbulence impacts on coherent detection capacity and on the associated phase noise that restricts clock transfer precision. We evaluate the capacity to obtain a two-way cancellation of atmospheric effects despite the asymmetry between up and down link that limits the link ...

Measuring Network One-way Transit Time

Network one-way transit time is one of the principal factors affecting network QoS. It is therefore important to measure it with sufficient accuracy. The measurements of network one-way transit time should not include host effects (time spent of the measurement hosts themselves) but be entirely attributable to delays incurred on the network. Furthermore, the measurements of network oneway trans...
