Background The increasing biomarkers testing and new methods of presymptomatic screening for dementia have risen questions like: Should people get tested? Would they want to know whether will this fatal, untreatable disease? This has picked the demand a well-structured counseling program screening. In direction, it is important meet needs target group; however, not much known about with family history attitudes testing, motivations barriers, expectations relevant future programs Method study was comprised validation psychometric tool cross-sectional survey assess attitudes, buries testing. content questionnaire based on (1) literature review, (2) Perceptions Regarding Investigational Screening Memory in Primary Care (PRISM-PC) Questionnaire (M. متن کاملPresymptomatic testing for Huntington's disease.
Recombinant DNA technology has made possible the identification of a DNA marker for Huntington's disease (HD). In spite of limitations to a presymptomatic test based on this work, and a variety of ethical and policy concerns associated with presymptomatic testing in general, it is likely that such a testing program can and will soon be developed. Its impact needs to be carefully considered by t...

Approximately 20% of patients with the neurodegenerative disorder frontotemporal dementia (FTD) have an autosomal dominant pattern of inheritance. Genetic FTD is caused by mutations in three genes in most cases (progranulin, microtubule-associated protein tau and chromosome 9 open reading frame 72) although a number of other genes are rare causes. Studies of other neurodegenerative diseases hav...
