چکیده
Abstract Ultrasonic welding of plastics has been used in a wide range industries and improving quality production speed are still important issues. This paper introduces method to evaluate the condition during welding. In this method, vibrations propagated were acquired using piezoelectric element. By fast fourier transform analysis, tracking calculation data, total harmonic distortion with time was obtained. The can be determined by comparing strength against obtained from 180° peeling test. As result, it found that vibration characteristics indicate completion welding, making possible efficiently weld.

In ultrasonic welding, high frequency vibrations are combined with pressure to join two materials together quickly and securely. Ultrasonic welding can join dissimilar metals in a split second, ultrasonic welding eases problematic assembly and this cost effective technique may be key to mass producing fuel efficient. In this work effect of various parameters on weld strength have been studied. ...
متن کاملMeasurement of Thermoplastic Dynamic Modulus using an Ultrasonic Welding System
This paper reports the preliminary results of a newly developed method for measuring dynamic modulus of thermoplastic materials at a given ultrasonic frequency. In the method, a material specimen is squeezed at the tip of the horn of a conventional ultrasonic welding machine. The mechanical impedance of the material specimen under loading is then deduced by processing the input electrical imped...
متن کاملMicrostructure and Mechanical Properties of an Ultrasonic Spot Welded Aluminum Alloy: The Effect of Welding Energy
The aim of this study is to evaluate the microstructures, tensile lap shear strength, and fatigue resistance of 6022-T43 aluminum alloy joints welded via a solid-state welding technique-ultrasonic spot welding (USW)-at different energy levels. An ultra-fine necklace-like equiaxed grain structure is observed along the weld line due to the occurrence of dynamic crystallization, with smaller grain...
متن کاملThe Effect of Welding Energy on the Microstructural and Mechanical Properties of Ultrasonic-Welded Copper Joints
The effects of welding energy on the mechanical and microstructural characteristics of ultrasonic-welded pure copper plates were investigated. Complex dynamic recrystallization and grain growth occurred inside the weld zone during ultrasonic welding. At a low welding energy, a thin band of straight weld interfaces was observed and had an ultra-fine grain structure. With an increase in welding e...
