Length of Maximal Common Subsequences
The problem of computing the length of the maximal common subsequences of two strings is quite well examined in the sequential case. There are many variations, but the standard approach is to compute the length in quadratic time using dynamic programming. A lineartime parallel algorithm can be obtained via a simple modification of this strategy by letting a linear number of processors sweep thr...
متن کاملMaximal Length Common Non-intersecting Paths
Given a set P n of n points on the plane labeled with the integers f1; : : : ; ng, an increasing path of P n is a sequence of points i 1 < : : : < i k such that the polygonal path ob-1 is non-self intersecting. We show that any point set on the plane admits an increasing path of length at least p 2n. We also study the problem of nding the longest common increasing path of two convex point sets ...
متن کاملStudy on Cyclic Cross-Correlation Behaviour of Maximal Length Pseudo-Random Binary Sequences
Cyclic cross-correlation function between image pairs of maximal length pseudo-random binary sequences is studied. It is found that the peak of the cross-correlation remains constant for every possible image pairs of the sequences of the same length. However, this unique property is not valid for all the other possible pairs.
متن کاملLarge deviation principles for words drawn from correlated letter sequences
When an i.i.d. sequence of letters is cut into words according to i.i.d. renewal times, an i.i.d. sequence of words is obtained. In the annealed LDP (large deviation principle) for the empirical process of words, the rate function is the specific relative entropy of the observed law of words w.r.t. the reference law of words. In Birkner, Greven and den Hollander [3] the quenched LDP (= conditio...
متن کاملSimultaneous acoustic channel measurement via maximal-length-related sequences.
A wide variety of acoustic systems has multiple sources and receivers. This paper proposes a technique for making acoustic measurements simultaneously for multiple sources. The proposed technique features a collection of excitation signals of the maximum-length sequence (MLS) and MLS-related classes. Each signal in the set has a pulse-like autocorrelation function, and the cross-correlation fun...
