Maxillofacial abnormalities are the most deleterious to a person's self-esteem and quality of life. Restoration speech, deglutition, masticatory functions as well achieving normal orofacial appearance main objectives rehabilitation maxillofacial defects. Any prosthesis can be held in place by anatomical, mechanical, chemical, or surgical anchorage, depending on clinical scenario. Various methods retention have evolved over period time. Osseointegrated implants been employed enhance facial prosthesis, last 20 years. The prosthodontist should familiar with all available options, opt for appropriate retentive method, while planning prosthetic patient.
