Material Behavior of High-Strength Low-Alloy Steel (HSLA) WAAM Walls in Construction

Additive manufacturing with steel offers new opportunities for the construction sector. In particular, direct energy deposition (DED) processes such as Wire Arc Manufacturing (WAAM or DED-Arc), are able to create large structures a high degree of geometric freedom, like force-flow-optimized nodes and frameworks, well truss structures. By using high-strength steel, times can be shortened because less material has applied. order enable usage WAAM components in industry, profound knowledge behavior is necessary. Based on reliable process parameters, extensive experimental numerical investigations carried out characterize influence layer orientation overhang angle mechanical parameters low-alloy (HSLA) walls.
