Mass transfer from a sheared spherical rigid capsule

چکیده
Solute mass transfer from a spherical fluid-filled rigid capsule subjected to shear flow is studied numerically, while considering unsteady, continuous and nonuniform boundary conditions on its surface. Here, the acts as reservoir with initially encapsulated solute concentration decaying over time. This scenario differs classical case study of either constant or flux at surface particle. The field are computed using fully three-dimensional lattice Boltzmann simulations, where fluid-structure two-way coupling achieved by immersed method. Effects efficacy quantified Sherwood number (the dimensionless coefficient), which found increase due combined effects forced convection local induced rotation capsule. Having continuity both significantly decreases compared uniform conditions. All obtained results can be applied heat in cooling an hot particle, for must replaced temperature Nusselt number.

متن کاملMass Properties Identification of a Rigid Body Using Modal Analysis
In performing vibration analysis of the car engine on the engine support, it is necessary to know the mass properties of the engine including mass, position of the center of mass and mass inertia moments. Because the car engine has a relatively complex geometric shape and is composed of different components with different densities, determining its mass properties faces many challenges. There a...

This paper presents a numerical study of local mass transfer coefficients in a 90° bend using the RNG version of k–e model to include the influence of curvature on the turbulent transport. Simulations were performed for flow through a 90°, 3-D bend for Reynolds numbers of 13500, 90000, and 390000, Schmidt numbers of 2.53 and 700 and curvature ratios of 1.5, 2, and 2.5. The differences betwe...
متن کاملAs-rigid-as-possible spherical parametrization
In this paper, we present an efficient approach for parameterizing a genus-zero triangular mesh onto the sphere with an optimal radius in an as-rigid-as-possible (ARAP) manner, which is an extension of planar ARAP parametrization approach to spherical domain. We analyze the smooth and discrete ARAP energy and formulate our spherical parametrization energy from the discrete ARAP energy. The solu...
