BOEK: Het leven lacht de 26-jarige Martha Geiringer toe in 1938: Weense biologe werkt volop aan een veelbelovend doctoraat. Een doctoraat dat nooit voltooid zal worden. Want is Joods. Door Anschluss en het sterk toegenomen antisemitisme verlaat noodgedwongen haar onderzoeksinstituut samen met familie slaat ze op vlucht. Via Zwitserland Frankrijk belandt België. Daar wordt opgevangen door Yvonne Fontaine, Gentse verzetsstrijdster die zich lot van aantrekt 1938 tot 1942 onderdak verleent dokterspraktijk.
