Markovian Decentralized Ensemble Control for Demand Response

چکیده
With the advancement in smart grid and energy devices, demand response becomes one of most economic feasible solutions to ease load stress power grids during peak hours. In this work, we propose a fully decentralized ensemble control framework with consensus for (DR) events compatible methods based on random policies. We show that under is tailored DR, our proposed method yields same optimality as centralized both myopic multistage settings.

Demand Response by Decentralized Device Control Based on Voltage Level
This paper introduces a distributed, self-organizing approach to load control based on voltage measurement. A local voltage measurement defines a Level of Service (LoS), which is balanced with the neighboring households in order to avoid extreme restrictions of energy use in a single household. The approach distinguishes four criticality classes for devices which suspend themselves at specific ...
متن کاملValue of Demand Observability for Inventory Control with Markovian Demand and Lost Sales
We present a partially observed Markov decision process model of a single product supply chain system with lost sales, in which a single decision maker selects a replenishment quantity at each decision epoch. Demand is modeled using an exogenous Markov chain, such that the distribution of demand in a period is dependent on the demand level in the prior period. The objective is to maximize expec...
متن کاملJoint pricing and inventory control with a Markovian demand model
We consider the joint pricing and inventory control problem for a single product with a finite horizon and periodic review. The demand distribution in each period is determined by an exogenous Markov chain. Pricing and ordering decisions are made at the beginning of each period and all shortages are backlogged. The surplus costs as well as fixed and variable costs are state dependent. We show t...
متن کاملAn Analysis of Decentralized Demand Response as Frequency Control Support under Critical Wind Power Oscillations
In power systems with high wind energy penetration, the conjunction of wind power fluctuations and power system inertia reduction can lead to large frequency excursions, where the operating reserves of conventional power generation may be insufficient to restore the power balance. With the aim of evaluating the demand-side contribution to frequency control, a complete process to determine criti...
متن کاملDecentralized Management of Demand Response Events with On/Off Loads
A suboptimal decentralized approach for the management of demand response events (DRE) is proposed. We introduce a DRE model that explicitly accounts for on/off loads and leverages the inherent storage capacity of thermal loads provided by their inertia. Our approach can compute in a tractable time a feasible solution to the DRE management problem, with proven convergence guarantees, while user...
