Mapping QTL for Yield and Its Component Traits Using Wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) RIL Mapping Population from TAM 113 × Gallagher

Understanding genetic architectures of yield and yield-related traits wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) grown under dryland or irrigated conditions is pivotal for developing modern high-yielding germplasm cultivars. The objectives this study were to detect quantitative trait loci (QTL) linked components using a mapping population derived from ‘TAM 113’/‘Gallagher’, including 191 recombinant inbred lines (RILs). was in McGregor, College Station, Bushland, Texas, three consecutive years 2019 2021. A high-density map covering all 21 chromosomes constructed set 8,075 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNPs) obtained genotyping-by-sequencing (GBS). total 147 QTLs 16 identified, which included consistently detected multiple experiments 8 that showed pleiotropic effects. Of them, five overlapped with the consistent QTL. They increased grain (YLD) up 37.64 g m−2, thousand kernel weight (TKW) 1.33 g, harvest (HI) 0.97%, length 0.08 mm, width 0.04 mm Gallagher alleles YLD 22.21 kernels spike−1 1.77, TKW 1.14 HI 3.72% TAM 113 alleles. One major QTL on chromosome 2D at 34.4 Mbp photoperiod gene Ppd-D1 affected by traits, diameter (DIAM), TKW, hardness index (KHI), heading date (HD), plant height (PH). Another cluster region 7D between 52 66 Mbp, encompassing one QTLs. 24.16 1%, DIAM 0.03 mm. This dissected associated providing valuable information improvement marker-assisted selection (MAS).
