Mapping Children’s Actions in the Scaffolding Process Using Interactive Whiteboard

Abstract This study aims to examine children’s actions in relation the preschool teacher’s scaffolding action a context where an interactive whiteboard (IWB) is used. Over five months, 22 children aged between 4 and 6 years old, along with their teachers, were video observed. The of these teaching moments has provided rich seam evidence that details ways act scaffolding. results show manifest 12 distinct including: Giving short responses, Approaching IWB engage activities; Explaining, Experimenting; Smiling laughing; Pointing showing; Working together; Challenging each other; Solving problem; Using language meaningful contexts; Expressing emotions; Comparing similarities differences. By mapping process, which are often undermined or ignored existing research, findings this have expanded deepened our understanding process notion itself. findings, further, exemplify how just providing support can contribute early childhood education, since interventions, such as teachers scaffold actions, particularly crucial for learning development.
