Managing Phosphorus Availability from Organic and Inorganic Sources for Optimum Wheat Production in Calcareous Soils

چکیده

In calcareous soils, wheat productivity is much lower due to improper nutrient management, especially phosphorus (P). Therefore, this study was conducted manage P availability from various organic (Control, FYM and Sugar cane straw applied at the rate of 10 ton ha?1) inorganic 100% rock phosphate (RP), 50% acidulated RP, single super (SSP) diammonium (DAP)) sources 90 kg P2O5 ha?1 in soil while using as test crop. When averaged across sources, SSP performed better emergence m?2 (126), tillers (431), spikes (419), grains spikes?1 (61), plant height (95.1 cm), 1000-GW (40 g), biological yield (11,023 ha?1), grain (4022 use efficiency (10.5%), leaves tillering (2.63 mg kg?1) anthesis stage (2.50 kg?1), heading (1.73 post-harvest (1.56 compared rest mineral sources. Similarly, among than others for all tested traits. Integration with manures further improved crop performance content. tons integration or RP recommended ensuring optimum under soils.

Organic and Inorganic Amendments Affect Soil Concentration and Accumulation of Cadmium and Lead in Wheat in Calcareous Alkaline Soils

Irrigation with untreated effluent in periurban agriculture could result in accumulation and bioconcentrations of cadmium (Cd) and lead (Pb). Different amendments were used to investigate their effect on availability, concentration, and uptake of metals by wheat in texturally different soils. Crop was irrigated with water containing Cd and Pb at 20 mg L−1, thereby adding 260 mg pot−1 of each me...

Comparisons of Three Methods for Organic and Inorganic Carbon in Calcareous Soils of Northwestern China

With increasing interest in the carbon cycle on arid land, there is an urgent need to quantify both soil organic carbon (SOC) and inorganic carbon (SIC) thus to assess various methods. Here, we present a study employing three methods for determinations of SOC and SIC in the Yanqi Basin of northwest China. We use an elemental analyzer for both SOC and SIC, the Walkley-Black method for SOC, a mod...

Phosphorus retention in calcareous soils and the effect of organic matter on its mobility

A survey of the interactions between phosphorus (P) species and the components of calcareous soils shows that both surface reactions and precipitation take place, especially in the presence of calcite and limestone. The principal products of these reactions are dicalcium phosphate and octacalcium phosphate, which may interconvert after formation. The role of calcium carbonate in P retention by ...

Phosphorus runoff from two water sources on a calcareous soil.

Phosphorus (P) in irrigation runoff may enrich offsite water bodies and streams and be influenced by irrigation water quality and antecedent soil surface conditions. Runoff, soil loss, and P fractions in runoff using reverse osmosis (RO) water or mixed RO and well water (RO/ Tap) were studied in a laboratory sprinkler study to evaluate water source effects on P transport. A top- or subsoil Port...
