Management of a Rare Case of C2–3 Cervical Foraminal Disc Herniation by Unilateral Biportal Endoscopic Foraminotomy

Foraminal disc herniation at the C2–3 level is a very rare entity, for which consensus treatment protocol has not been established. This case report explains that unilateral biportal endoscopic foraminotomy effective, minimally invasive, and safe procedure this condition. A 62-year-old woman presented to our clinic with complaints of 6-week history posterior axial neck pain sudden onset hypoesthesia over right periauricular region, face lip. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) revealed foraminal herniation, cervical was done using technique. The patient reported complete relief soon after surgery gradual improvement hypoesthesia. Postoperative MRI showed removal compressing fragment. In conclusion, shows invasive can be better choice decompression than many extensive destructive procedures. first in literature describing management by foraminotomy.
