چکیده
Voltage control of magnetism via ionic motion (magnetoionic control) is currently a thriving approach for low-power magnetic nanodevices. Recently, fast switching and high reversibility have been achieved proton (H+)-based magnetoionic in all-solid devices. In this work, the authors extend such to perpendicular exchange bias (EB) systems by functionalizing ferromagnetic Co layer with an underlying antiferromagnetic NiO layer. They reveal importance interfacial Pd existence EB system. Importantly, they demonstrate reversible remanence coercivity system thoroughly discuss mechanism.

Exchange Bias in FeF20-CoPt heterosystems with perpendicular anisotropy
The exchange bias e!ect is measured in heterosystems with perpendicular anisotropy consisting of Co/Pt multilayers on top of the (0 0 1) face of a FeF single crystal. The resulting exchange "eld H exhibits a strong dependence on temperature and the axial freezing "eld, H . Within the framework of an Ising-type model, the H vs. 1 as well as the H vs.H data are explained in terms of the microscop...

متن کاملPerpendicular exchange bias and its control by magnetic, stress and electric fields
Perpendicular exchange bias (PEB) involving perpendicular magnetic anisotropy (PMA) in both the antiferromagnetic (AF) pinning and the ferromagnetic (FM) sensor layer is expected to become important in future perpendicular recording and sensing devices. Further, because of the reduced spin dimensionality, PEB promises to be easier understandable than the conventional planar exchange bias (EB). ...
متن کاملExtrinsic control of the exchange bias
A new control mechanism for the exchange bias effect in magnetic heterostructures is proposed. It takes advantage of the magnetoelectric effect which takes place in the antiferromagnetic pinning layer. In contrast with the pioneering AC measurements of the magnetoelectric effect, we investigate the magnetic response of the prototypical magnetoelectric compound Cr2O3 on static electric fields. T...
