Magneto-rotational instability in magnetically polarized discs

چکیده
The magneto-rotational instability (MRI) is the most likely mechanism for transportation of angular momentum and dissipation energy within hot, ionized accretion discs. This produced through interactions a differentially rotating plasma with an embedded magnetic field. Like all substances in nature, disc has potential to become magnetically polarized when it interacts In this paper, we study effect susceptibility, parameterized by $\chi_m$, on MRI, specifically context black hole accretion. We find from linear analysis Newtonian limit that minimum wavelength first unstable mode fastest growing are shorter paramagnetic ($\chi_m>0$) than diamagnetic ($\chi_m<0$) discs, other parameters being equal. Furthermore, magnetization parameter (ratio gas pressure) saturated state should be smaller susceptibility positive negative. confirm latter prediction set numerical simulations additionally vertically integrated stress mass rate somewhat larger diamagnetic. If astrophysical discs able any significant degree, then our results would relevant properly interpreting observations.

Global accretion disk simulations of magneto - rotational instability
We perform global three-dimensional simulations of accretion disks integrating the compressible, non-viscous, but diffusive MHD equations. The disk is supposed to be isothermal. We make use of the ZEUS-3D code integrating the MHD equations and added magnetic diffusivity. We measure the efficiency of the angular-momentum transport. Various model simulations delivered transport parameters of α SS...
متن کاملEpisodic accretion in magnetically layered protoplanetary discs
We study protoplanetary disc evolution assuming that angular momentum transport is driven by gravitational instability at large radii, and magnetohydrodynamic (MHD) turbulence in the hot inner regions. At radii of the order of 1 AU such discs develop a magnetically layered structure, with accretion occurring in an ionized surface layer overlying quiescent gas that is too cool to sustain MHD tur...
متن کاملSemi-global simulations of the magneto-rotational instability in core collapse supernovae
Context. Possible effects of magnetic fields in core collapse supernovae rely on an efficient amplification of the weak pre-collapse fields. It has been suggested that the magneto-rotational instability (MRI) leads to a rapid growth for these weak seed fields. Although plenty of MRI studies exist for accretion disks, the application of their results to core collapse supernovae is inhibited as t...
متن کاملLocal Axisymmetric Simulations of Magneto-Rotational Instability in Radiation-Dominated Accretion Disks
We perform numerical simulations of magneto-rotational instability in a local patch of accretion disk in which radiation pressure exceeds gas pressure. Such conditions may occur in the central regions of disks surrounding compact objects in active galactic nuclei and Galactic X-ray sources. We assume axisymmetry, and neglect vertical stratification. The growth rates of the instability on initia...
متن کاملMagnetically-driven jets from Keplerian accretion discs
Non-relativistic, magnetically-driven jets are constructed by taking self-consistently into account the feedback on the underlying accretion disc. It is shown that such jets are mostly described by the ejection index ξ = d ln Ṁa/d ln r, which is a local measure of the disc ejection efficiency. This parameter is found to lie in a very narrow range, due to constraints imposed by both the disc ver...
