Magnetic instabilities in superconducting composites
The stability of electric currents in multifilamentary superconducting composites against flux jumps is discussed in detail. The normal procedure for such a quantitative stability investigation is carried out. In some particular cases the stability criteria are found and analysed.
متن کاملPhase boundary of several multicube superconducting circuits in a magnetic field of arbitrary magnitude and direction.
A previous study [C.-R. Hu and C.-H. Huang, Phys. Rev. B 43, 7718 11991)]of the phase boundary T,(H) of a single-cube superconducting circuit in an external magnetic field 8 of arbitrary magnitude and direction is extended here to superconducting circuits containing 2X2X2, 4X4X4, and 6X6X6 cubes. For the last two cases, the study reported here is limited to the vicinity of one major peak of T, ...
متن کاملQuasistatic propagation of steps along a phase boundary
We study quasistatic propagation of steps along a phase boundary in a two-dimensional lattice model of martensitic phase transitions. For analytical simplicity, the formulation is restricted to antiplane shear deformation of a cubic lattice with bi-stable interactions along one component of shear strain and harmonic interactions along the other. Energy landscapes connecting equilibrium configur...
متن کاملMagnetic and superconducting instabilities in the periodic Anderson model: an RPA study
We study the magnetic and superconducting instabilities of the periodic Anderson model with infinite Coulomb repulsion U in the random phase approximation. The Néel temperature and the superconducting critical temperature are obtained as functions of electronic density (chemical pressure) and hybridization V (pressure). It is found that close to the region where the system exhibits magnetic ord...
متن کاملFermi-Liquid Instabilities at Magnetic Quantum Phase Transitions
This review discusses instabilities of the Fermi-liquid state of conduction electrons in metals with particular emphasis on magnetic quantum critical points. Both the existing theoretical concepts and experimental data on selected materials are presented; with the aim of assessing the validity of presently available theory. After briefly recalling the fundamentals of Fermi-liquid theory, the lo...
